i’d like to add that i currently work in the vitamins/supplements part of a grocery store and the types of people panicking vs. not panicking about COVID-19 are exactly who you think they’d be. moms who would never vaccinate their kids or get a damn flu shot are clearing our shelves of hand sanitizer and soap and wipes and screaming at us about how DARE we not have more. meanwhile my regulars who are 70+ years old, chronically ill, or otherwise immunocompromised are understanding and quietly scared and it breaks my heart. one of my regulars had a liver transplant not long ago and can’t even travel back to LA because her doctors are too concerned about her poor immune system to let her travel, and she can’t even get hand soap to protect herself in the meantime. the people who will suffer from this virus aren’t the normal, healthy people who are panicking. the old, the ill, and the less fortunate are going to lose their lives simply because people are too panicked to educate themselves on basic hygiene and epidemiology.
This explains well why you shouldn’t panic stock
